🕊️ Fear Not — Humility Knows Its True Place

📖 Luke 17:10 “Even so you also, when you have done all the things that are commanded you, say, ‘We are unworthy servants. We have done our duty.’”

At first glance, this verse may sound harsh. Does Jesus really mean that we are worthless or useless? Absolutely not. The Greek word ἀχρεῖος (achreios [a-KHRI-os]) does not mean “worthless” in this context, but rather having no claim to special reward or merit.

Jesus is speaking about the attitude of our hearts. Everything we do for God is not an achievement through which we earn His love or blessing. We do not serve Him to receive recognition, but because we love Him. Our obedience is a response to His grace, not a requirement for receiving it.

📖 Ephesians 2:8–9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast.”

In a world that constantly seeks recognition, praise, and success, Jesus reminds us that our value does not come from what we accomplish. Our worth has already been established because we are children of God. Therefore, we have nothing to prove to God. We can serve Him with grateful hearts.

This also protects us from pride. When God works through us, all the glory belongs to Him alone. We are instruments in His hands, and every good work is ultimately the result of His grace working within us.

📖 1 Corinthians 15:10 “But by the grace of God I am what I am. His grace which was given to me was not futile.”

Perhaps you sometimes feel that your service goes unnoticed or that no one recognizes your efforts. But God sees every act done out of love for Him. He never forgets a single step of obedience or any hidden act of faithfulness. When we understand that we have already been accepted, we can serve Him with joy—not merely out of obligation, but out of love. This is where the freedom of a child of God is found.

🙌 Therefore: Fear not — you have nothing to prove to God. Serve Him out of love, because you have already been accepted by Him.
