đď¸Do Not Fear â Godâs Wisdom Is Stronger Than Violence
đ 2 Kings 6:18 âWhen the Syrians came down to him, Elisha prayed to the LORD and said, âPlease strike this people with blindness.â He struck them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.â

At first glance, one might think that Elisha prayed for the destruction of his enemies. But that is exactly what he did not do. He did not ask God to kill them, but to strike them with blindness. In this way, God opened a path by which bloodshed could be avoided.
Elisha led the Syrians to Samaria. When their eyes were opened again, they found themselves right in the middle of Israel. The king of Israel wanted to kill them immediately. But Elisha stopped him. Instead, he had bread and water set before them, and afterward they returned to their own land.
In doing so, Elisha was already living out a principle that Jesus would clearly teach centuries later:
đ Matthew 5:44
âBut I tell you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who mistreat you and persecute you.â
Godâs victory was not about destroying as many enemies as possible, but about overcoming hostility. His wisdom produced a greater victory than any military triumph ever could.
đ Romans 12:21
âDonât be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.â
Love is not weakness. Forgiveness is not giving in. Both are expressions of divine strength. When we act according to Godâs wisdom, solutions become possible that human revenge could never produce. Godâs ways do not only lead to victory â they also reveal His heart.
đ Do not fear â Godâs wisdom and love bring about a greater victory than hatred and revenge could ever achieve.
