🕊️ Do Not Fear — Jesus Has Truly Set You Free
📖 Leviticus 14:6–7 “As for the living bird, he shall take it, together with the cedar wood, the scarlet yarn, and the hyssop, and dip them and the living bird in the blood of the bird that was killed over the fresh water. He shall sprinkle the one to be cleansed from leprosy seven times, pronounce him clean, and release the living bird into the open field.”

This ceremony for the cleansing of a leper is one of the most beautiful pictures of the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
In the Bible, leprosy often serves as a picture of sin. A person could not cleanse himself—and in the same way, we cannot free ourselves from our guilt. God Himself had to make a way.
One bird was killed over fresh, living water. The second, living bird was dipped into the blood of the sacrificed bird and then released. What a powerful picture! One bird died so that the other could fly free.
That is exactly what Jesus did for us. He died in our place so that we could be set free.
📖 2 Corinthians 5:21
“For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.”
Even the individual elements point to Christ. The cedar wood speaks of endurance and incorruptibility. The scarlet yarn reminds us of the blood that was shed. Hyssop (אֵזוֹב, ezov, eh-ZOV) was repeatedly used for sprinkling with blood and represents cleansing through sacrifice.
The person being cleansed was sprinkled seven times. In the Bible, the number seven speaks of completeness. Jesus’ sacrifice does not cleanse partially, but completely.
📖 Hebrews 10:14
“For by one offering he has perfected forever those who are being sanctified.”
The living bird then flew away into freedom. It did not return to captivity. This is God’s picture of your new life. Whoever has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus is no longer bound to the past. He is free.
📖 John 8:36
“If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed.”
You no longer have to live under guilt, condemnation, or the power of sin. Christ has paid the price in full. Your freedom is not based on your performance, but on His finished work on the cross.
🙌 Therefore: Do not fear — Jesus died for you so that you can live in His perfect freedom.
