🕊️ Fear Not — God Reveals His Holiness to Those Who Draw Near to Him
📖 Leviticus 10:3 “Then Moses said to Aaron, ‘This is what Yahweh spoke, saying, “I will show myself holy among those who come near me, and before all the people I will be glorified.”’ Aaron held his peace.”

God desires fellowship with us. From the beginning, it has been His desire to be close to people. Yet His nearness is never ordinary. Whoever enters His presence encounters the holy God, whose nature is perfectly pure and glorious. That is why this verse reminds us that God’s holiness and His love can never be separated from one another.
The Hebrew word for “holy” is קָדוֹשׁ (qādōš, ka-DOHSH). It means set apart, pure, and perfect. God is perfectly holy and unchanging. His holiness is not merely one of His attributes, but expresses His entire being.
The Hebrew word for “to draw near” is קָרַב (qārav, ka-RAHV). It means to approach, to come near, or to enter into the presence of someone. God invites us to draw near to Him. Yet this nearness is not approached carelessly, but with a heart that honors Him and trusts Him.
Aaron’s response is also striking: “Aaron held his peace.” He did not argue with God or question His justice. Although his pain must have been immeasurable, he acknowledged that God’s actions are always holy and righteous. There are situations we do not immediately understand. Yet precisely in those moments, we can trust that God’s character remains unchangingly good, righteous, and holy.
📖 Hebrews 12:28–29
“Therefore, receiving a Kingdom that can’t be shaken, let’s have grace, through which we serve God acceptably, with reverence and awe, for our God is a consuming fire.”
Through Jesus Christ, we can now come boldly to the Father. His grace has opened the way. Precisely because of this, our closeness with God should never replace our reverence for His holiness. True nearness to God changes our hearts and causes us to love and honor Him more and more.
🙌 Therefore: Fear not — the closer you draw to God, the more His holiness will shape your life.
