🕊️ Fear Not — Remain Faithful Until the End

📖 2 Kings 2:6 “And Elijah said unto him, Tarry, I pray thee, here; for the LORD hath sent me to Jordan. And he said, As the LORD liveth, and as thy soul liveth, I will not leave thee. And they two went on.”

This was already the third time Elijah told Elisha to stay behind. From Gilgal to Bethel, from Bethel to Jericho, and now to the Jordan, Elisha’s determination was being tested. Yet he refused to turn back. He understood that God’s calling often requires faithfulness, even when the road is not easy.

Faithfulness is not proven by great words, but by steady steps. Elisha could have found many reasons to stop. Instead, he chose to remain beside his spiritual mentor until the end. This perseverance prepared him for what God was about to do next.

The Hebrew word for “leave” is עָזַב (ʿazav – ah-ZAV). It means to forsake, to abandon, or to leave behind. Elisha was saying, “I will not abandon you. I will stay by your side.” His attitude revealed loyalty toward Elijah, and ultimately toward the calling of God.

đź“– Galatians 6:9
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”

Very often, God’s greatest blessing is only a few steps beyond the temptation to give up. Those who remain faithful will see that God fulfills His promises. Shortly after this moment, Elisha saw Elijah taken up into heaven, and he received the mantle and the assignment God had prepared for him.

đź“– Revelation 2:10
“Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.”

Perhaps God is calling you today simply to keep walking and not give up. Your faithfulness today is preparing you for what He has already prepared for tomorrow.

🙌 Therefore, fear not—remain faithful, because God rewards endurance.
