🕊️ Fear Not — Zeal Is Good When It Is Directed Toward What Is Good
📖 Galatians 4:18 “But it is always good to be zealous in a good cause, and not only when I am present with you.”

Paul is speaking here about spiritual zeal and influence. The Galatians were being pursued by different people. Some sought to lead them deeper into the truth of Christ, while others were trying to draw them away from the freedom of the gospel. Therefore, Paul makes it clear that zeal itself is neither good nor bad. What matters is the object of that zeal.
God delights in a heart that seeks Him passionately. Yet genuine spiritual zeal does not grow out of pressure, fear of people, or the desire for human approval. It flows from love for Christ. 📖 Romans 12:11 encourages us: “Not lagging in diligence; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”
It is also significant that Paul says this zeal should exist “always,” not only when he is present. True faith does not depend on who is watching. Spiritual maturity is revealed when we remain faithful to the Lord whether others see us or not.
📖 Colossians 3:23 reminds us: “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men.”
God is not looking for temporary enthusiasm that fades when circumstances change. He desires hearts that remain steadfast in Him. Our love for Christ should not depend on emotions, situations, or the presence of certain people. 📖 John 15:4 says: “Remain in me, and I in you.”
When our zeal remains focused on Jesus, it protects us from deception and keeps our hearts close to Him. Then we are no longer seeking the approval of people, but the fellowship of God.

“Let’s hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.”
🙌 Therefore: Fear not — remain steadfast in your love for Christ, for true spiritual zeal grows out of fellowship with Him and continues to bear fruit even when no one is watching.
