🕊️ Fear Not – True Wisdom Begins with God

7/9/2026

📖 Proverbs 1:7
“The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of knowledge; but the foolish despise wisdom and instruction.”

In our world, knowledge is often confused with wisdom. People accumulate information, degrees, and experience, yet many miss the most important foundation of all: the fear of the Lord. Scripture does not say that knowledge begins with education or human achievement. It begins with God.

This fear is not a crippling terror but a reverent attitude of the heart. The Hebrew word for fear is יִרְאָה (Yir’ah [yir-AH], reverence, awe, and deep respect toward God). When we truly know God, we begin to see life, ourselves, and the world from His perspective.

📖 Psalm 111:10
“The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. All those who do his work have a good understanding.”

Many people search for answers to life’s greatest questions while deliberately leaving God out of the equation. Yet true understanding grows when we are willing to be taught by Him. That is why Proverbs contrasts the fool with the wise person. The fool rejects correction because he believes he already knows enough. The wise person remains teachable.

📖 Proverbs 9:10
“The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom. The knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”

God desires to give us more than information. He wants to give us wisdom for daily living. He teaches us how to make good decisions, recognize deception, and walk in His ways. Those who allow Him to lead them receive insight that goes far beyond human intelligence.

📖 James 1:5
“But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.”

The closer we draw to the Lord, the clearer we see what truly matters. In His presence, genuine wisdom begins to grow.

🙌 Therefore: Fear not — the one who reverently trusts God and allows Him to teach them has found the true beginning of wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
