🕊️ Do Not Fear – God’s Truth Is Greater Than the Voices Around You
📖 Ezekiel 2:6 “You, son of man, don’t be afraid of them, neither be afraid of their words, though briers and thorns are with you, and you dwell among scorpions. Don’t be afraid of their words, nor be dismayed at their looks, though they are a rebellious house.”

God did not give Ezekiel an easy assignment. He sent him to people who did not want to listen. They would contradict him, criticize him, and reject his message. That is why God did not speak first about the assignment, but about fear. Before Ezekiel was to speak, he had to learn not to let the reactions of people determine his course.
The images of thorns and scorpions describe people whose words can wound. Harsh criticism, mockery, or rejection can leave deep wounds. Yet God reminds Ezekiel that the words of others are never greater than the Word of God.
“Don’t fear the reproach of men, and don’t be dismayed at their insults.”

Jesus too was mocked, rejected, and contradicted. Yet He did not turn away from the path the Father had shown Him.
“In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world.”

When we follow God, not everyone will understand our decisions. Some will try to discourage us; others will oppose us. But our peace does not come from the approval of people, but from the presence of God. We do not have to convince every voice or answer every criticism. What matters is that our hearts remain rooted in what God says about us and the path He has given us.
Sometimes the voices around us become especially loud when we begin to walk consistently in God’s way. But volume does not determine what is true. What God has spoken does not lose its power simply because people have a different opinion. Therefore, our trust can reach deeper than the reactions we encounter.
Especially then, we can remember that our security does not lie in being understood by everyone. Ezekiel did not need the approval of people to fulfill his calling; he needed the assurance that God had sent him. That same assurance can bring peace to our hearts when we face opposition.
“Yahweh is on my side. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

God did not ask Ezekiel to become strong enough for the thorns and scorpions. He called him to look to the Lord. Whoever values God’s voice above the voices of people finds courage to remain faithful even in difficult circumstances.
🙌 Therefore: Do not fear—God’s affirmation is stronger than every criticism, His truth is greater than every contradiction, and His presence is more precious than the approval of people.
